Too Many Hours

I have spent far too many hours playing Gold Strike.  This is a Tetris like game, but not.  You score points for the yellow blocks grouped together.  The more grouped, the more points.  My personal best is 448,002 482,283 699,518.

*Tip:  Let several columns come out before you start making moves.  Especially early on in the level.

The Meaning of Saved By Zero

From time to time I will get an email asking me what ?Saved By Zero? means.  Not my personal meaning, rather the meaning of the song.  I finally wrote to the band, in hopes that the lead singer Cy Curnin would respond.  I received an email back with this answer.

“You can’t fall from the floor. When you’re at zero you’ve got nothing to lose.”

This still leaves some room for interpretation, but I think it is a lot closer to an answer than some of the discussions I have seen.

Amazing Chalk Art

I came across this link for Chalk Art.  This isn’t your typical smiley face on the street.  All I can say is WOW!!!  In trying to locate the artist I found a link to street painter Kurt Wenner.  I don’t know if this is the same guy or not, but his work is equally amazing.

I have downloaded all the images from the first link.  The site doesn’t seem to be very stable and the images were loading sporadically.  If it continues to be that way I will display the images here.  Here is one of them.

AFC Champions

The Patriots keep proving that offense wins games and defense wins championships.  Two years ago they stopped the greatest show on turf (St. Louis Rams) and yesterday they dismantled the offense run by the hottest quarterback in recent memory.  On the way to the Super Bowl the Patriots have beat two MVP quarterbacks ? TWO!

My favorite stat of the game is that Marvin Harrison had 3 catches for 19 yards from Manning and Ty Law had 3 catches for 26 yards from Manning.

Classic Handheld Games

Remember those classic 70’s handheld games with the LEDs?  Peter Hirschberg has recreated them for the PC, PocketPC and Palm.

LEDhead is a program that simulates the classic electronic LED (light emitting diode) based handheld games of the 70’s. Back then every kid either had, or wanted, one of these classic games. Suddenly, it seemed that every company in the world began producing them! Now you can relive the excitement and travel back to your childhood years. All games feature sound-effects, and faithfully replicate the game play of the originals.

It’s 12 games in one!
Football, Basketball, Hockey, Soccer...they’re all here and more! And just as you remember them.
